The Rhino is one of the strikes that you can purchase after beginning as a Colonial player. It was not a standard ship in the Colonial fleet until after the discovery of the Abandoned Base on Delta Canopis. It is often compared to the Marauder of the Cylon faction which has a near-equivalent layout and systems setup.

You can purchase the Rhino for 36,000 Cubits and Advance it for 40,000 Cubits. This ship can be purchased at Delta Canopis by seeing SCPO Chief Galen Tyrol. You must be at least Level 1 to purchase this ship.

"An extremely rugged and heavily armored strike craft, only a small number of Rhinos have so far been discovered by the Colonial Fleet, and bringing them back into service requires a significant investment of time and resources. However, their ability to withstand incredible punishment has already made them highly valued.

The Rhino is an Assault Strike, meaning that it has more hull and armor than engines or computers. It can be impenetrable with Strike Damage Control systems or additional Armor and Hull platings. Setups do not vary much with this ship as it is not commonly used in strike-to-strike combat. Where it lacks Firewall rating and speed, it makes up for Hull, Armor, and firepower. If the right setup is found, the Rhino can be a deadly asset to a squadron.
